Drivers are being warned against abusing the Blue Badge scheme following seven more prosecutions for Blue Badge misuse related offences.
In all seven cases, the drivers had taken advantage of parking concessions they were not entitled to. The nature of the offences included the display of stolen Blue Badges, badges belonging to family members in their absence, using a badge after the holder had passed away, failing to produce a Blue Badge for inspection and providing false information relating to the driver of a vehicle. Fines totalling £2,426 including court costs and surcharges were issued to the defendants. Read more about Blue Badge prosecutions.
