Bromley’s Annual Flag Raising in support of Armed Forces Day 2021
Published Thursday, 24 June 2021
Bromley’s Mayor, Councillor Russell L. Mellor led Bromley Council’s annual flag raising ceremony to mark the week running up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 26 June. On this day, residents can show their support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community by watching the video available on the council’s website.
Bromley’s Mayor, Councillor Mellor said: ‘’As we continue to navigate through this challenging time, I believe it is essential we find new ways of communicating. Due to current restrictions we are only able to have limited guests attend the flag raising service, but I still want residents to have the opportunity to join us in our recognition of the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community.’’
‘’Armed Forces Day is our chance to recognise and honour the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community. Although we should always be aware of the sacrifice this community makes, this dedicated day give us the opportunity to thank our UK Armed Forces both past and present.’’
The video of the flag-raising at the Civic Centre can be watched from Friday, 25 June on the Mayor’s page on the council website, showing appreciation of our uniformed forces. Watch the video at www.bromley.gov.uk/mayor.
