On the eve of the Jubilee bank holiday, Bromley will be joining the nation in congratulating Her Majesty with a special beacon lighting to start a programme of activity.

Thousands of people are expected at Crystal Palace Park on Thursday evening to start the Jubilee celebrations as a tribute to Her Majesty the Queen. A host of exciting Jubilee events will then follow over the special four bank holiday, including 305 street parties across the borough.

Councillor Kate Lymer, Deputy Leader of Bromley Council said: “On behalf of our borough I offer a huge congratulations and thank you to Her Majesty after all she has done for our nation in a lifetime of service. From all the wonderful decorations around the borough and the record-breaking street parties and further fantastic events taking place, it is clear that Bromley has wholeheartedly embraced the Jubilee spirit. I hope residents have a wonderful bank holiday and I know many will be joining us to celebrate, including at exciting outdoor concerts and film screenings in Queens Gardens and for our beacon lighting in Crystal Palace. So let us raise a glass to Her Majesty to celebrate this historic occasion.”
