Bromley launches new strategy to outline continuing work to help the homeless

The number of rough sleepers in Bromley is much lower than most other London boroughs with a snapshot on one night in 2017 revealing five people, all of whom were known to Bromley Council.

This is the lowest level of rough sleeping recorded across South East London.  The council works with London Street Rescue to ensure it knows who is there and that they have support to access accommodation if they come from Bromley or to return to where they came from if not. The moving population amounts to 57 individuals across 2016/17 with 42 of these identified as new rough sleepers. As with London generally, there has been an upward trend over the past six years, partly due to better reporting mechanisms which now exist in the borough.  Read more...
