The following open letter is the lead article in Bromley Council’s Update e-newsletter.

As Christmas draws ever closer I am pleased to share with you a reminder about the council’s revised service arrangements over the festive period alongside other news in this winter Update newsletter.

Like 2021 and 2020 before it, 2022 has been another difficult year for many of us, which won’t be remembered with great fondness, dominated as it has been by the desperately sad loss of our much loved Queen and Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine.  The resulting surge in fuel and food prices and inflation spiking to worrying high levels has impacted on everyone’s cost of living and of course, has added significant additional cost to the council’s budget too.

We know that the higher level of inflation and related energy costs are causing difficulties for some, and my key message today, is that if you are among them and you do need help, please ask. Support and advice is available and much of this is signposted on our website; www.bromley.gov.uk/SupportingResidents.

Councillor Colin P. Smith,

Leader of the Council

London Borough of Bromley
