Application to build on Metropolitan Open Land rejected again

An application to construct a four to eight storey residential development on Metropolitan Open Land was rejected last night.

The application to construct 151 residential units at the Footzie Social Club, Station Approach, Lower Sydenham was refused by the council’s Development Control Committee on Tuesday as the proposal was considered to constitute inappropriate development on Metropolitan Open Land and represented an overdevelopment of the site.
