Biggin Hill Airport ‘call in’ application dismissed

The council’s Executive and Resources PDS Committee dismissed the ‘call-in’ application relating to Biggin Hill Airport’s application to their landlord, the council. The committee declined to refer the matter back to the Executive, meaning the decision now takes effect.

The ‘call in’ request followed the Executive’s decision to grant an extension of operating hours, with stringent conditions and obligations for Biggin Hill Airport.  The Executive’s decision was made on Wednesday 25 November 2015 and followed the meeting of the full council.

A council spokesperson said “As the landlord of Biggin Hill Airport, the council will require its tenant to operate within the confines of the Noise Action Plan (NAP).  It is important to note that the extended operating hours and the NAP are not coming into operation right now and work will continue in line with the various recommendations, with news continuing to be publicised as appropriate.”
