Bromley’s Youth Employment Scheme (YES) is holding the second annual Jobs Fair on Friday 14 July which will be open to young people living or studying in Bromley between 16 and 24 who are looking for work.

The event will be a ‘drop in’ session from 10am to 12.30pm at the Bromley Central Library, 4th floor.

Over 25 local and national employer organisations will be represented at the event covering a range of work sectors. These include Clarion Housing, Direct Line Group, Capita, Thackray Williams, The Army, Brands Hatch Thistle Hotel and Headmasters as well as companies representing the Care Sector. They will be bringing along ‘live’ job opportunities to promote and talk through with the young people that attend. London Borough of Bromley HR will also be using the opportunity to promote their new programme of apprenticeship opportunities within the council.  Cllr Peter Morgan, Chair of the Bromley Economic Partnership Board will be opening the event.

Bromley has a talented pool of young people from local sixth forms who have decided that university is not right for them but would rather seek on-the-job training through apprenticeships. The Jobs Fair is a chance to see some of what is on offer locally as well as farther afield.

The YES programme run by the Bromley Education Business Partnership has already successfully placed over 120 young people in employment as well as offering work experience to many more particularly those who are deemed vulnerable.
