Bromley’s Annual Flag Raising in support of Armed Forces Day 2020

Published Friday, 26 June 2020

Bromley’s Mayor, Councillor Hannah Gray led Bromley Council’s annual flag raising ceremony to mark the week running up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 27 June.

On this day, residents can show their support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community by watching the video available on the council’s website.

Bromley’s Mayor, Councillor Gray said: “At this difficult time, I believe it is important that we find new, innovative ways to keep in touch. I wanted residents to be able to take the time to recognise previous generations who sacrificed so much to keep us safe as we continue our own personal battle with the unseen enemy that is coronavirus.

“Armed Forces Day is our chance to show our support and appreciation for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community; from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets. We should constantly be aware, but it is on this day that we respectfully and officially acknowledge and thank our UK Armed Forces both past and present.

The video of the flag raising at the Civic Centre can be watched from the Mayor’s page on the council website from Saturday 27 June, showing appreciation of our uniformed forces. Visit the link at www.bromley.gov.uk/mayor or from the Mayor’s facebook page at www.facebook.com/mayorofbromley/
