Have your say - Consultation on empty homes premium for unoccupied dwellings
We are seeking your views on the introduction of Empty Homes Premium for unoccupied dwellings from April 2020. This is a sum that would be payable in addition to the council tax liability should the property be unoccupied.
From April 2020, we are proposing to increase council tax by adding a 50 percent premium for any property left unoccupied and unfurnished for between 2 and 5 years, increasing to a 100 percent premium for any property unfurnished and unoccupied for more than 5 years.
We would appreciate receiving your views by completing this questionnaire. Your answers will be anonymous, and will be considered along with the other responses we receive.
The consultation closes on Sunday 6 October 2019
