If you need to dispose of bulky items, you can:
- Donate them to charity
- Take them to our reuse and recycling centres.
- Arrange for a retailer to remove and dispose of your unwanted item(s) when delivering new goods.
Alternatively you can use our chargeable disposal service.

There is a minimum charge of £36
The cost will depend on the number and type of items, you can view a full list of prices which are also available when you book.
If you are in receipt of council tax or housing benefits, a concession is available; proof of eligibility is required.
Once we have received payment, our contractor will contact you to agree a date for collection, which will be within 10 working days. Items should be made available for collection between the hours of 7am and 3.30pm.
You can pay by cash, cheque or debit/credit card, either by telephone or online. If you pay by credit or debit card you need to make a note of both your unique booking reference and your payment reference.
Further information
Items are removed from outside your property only. Neither the council nor its contractors accept liability for damage to property during removal of items. Collections are carried out at the resident's own risk. Booking a collection constitutes acceptance of this condition.
Please note that whilst we can and do make refunds as appropriate, we cannot if a collection is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. If a collection is re-arranged with less than 24 hours notice, an additional minimum charge of £36 will be made.
