The following notice has been issued by the Food Standards Agency:

Best Fresh* is recalling six of its sandwich products because they contain undeclared allergens which are not mentioned on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley (gluten), celery, milk, and/or a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites.

*NB: some of the products listed below may be labelled with the Perfect Bite brand.

Use-by dates: 10 March 2017, 11 March 2017 and 12 March 2017
Risk: Sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites

Product: Best Fresh Chicken Tikka Sandwiches and Pittas
Use-by dates: 10 March 2017, 11 March 2017 and 12 March 2017
Risk: Milk

Product: Best Fresh Cheese & Pickle Soft rolls, French sticks and Torpedo rolls
Use-by dates: 10 March 2017, 11 March 2017 and 12 March 2017
Risk: Sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites, Barley (gluten)

Product: Best Fresh Cheese Ploughman Sandwiches
Use-by dates: 10 March 2017, 11 March 2017 and 12 March 2017
Risk: Sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites, Barley (gluten).

No other Best Fresh products are known to be affected.

The products contain allergens as listed above, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy / intolerance / sensitivity to any of those allergens.                   

Our advice to consumers
If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy / intolerance / sensitivity to any of the above allergens, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
