Blue and yellow Infrared IC pre-heat plate with metal bars
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the appliance was inadequately earthed and the clamping means was not adequately secured against accidental loosening. The cord set did not comply with BS EN 60799 and the plug on this sample failed to comply with BS 1363-1 as the dimensions of the sleeved parts of the pins differed from the metal parts of the pins. This resulted in a distinct step between the two. This could cause damage to the socket and undue wear and tear to the sleeve, potentially causing an electric shock to users. The instructions supplied with this sample were considered to be inadequate as they did not contain adequate safety information and details to ensure the correct and safe use of the product.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
