Product description
A red 12-inch chain saw with plastic blade cover, supplied in brown cardboard packaging
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock due to poor quality internal soldering and inadequate creepage and clearance distances within the charger. The plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 because the distance from the live pin to the outside edge is too small. The product also presents an injury risk as there is no manually activated chain brake. If the product was to 'kick back' during use, the user may lose control of the chainsaw, leading to injuries.
The products do not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
