The Mayoral charities for 2023-24
Each year the Mayor selects charities to support during their time in office, both by promoting them and by raising funds. In 2023/24, The Mayor of Bromley Cllr Mike Botting has chosen Orpington Sea Cadets, PTSD999 and The MumMum Foundation. There will be opportunities to donate and support at events throughout the year.
Orpington Sea Cadets
Orpington Sea Cadets work to give the young people of Orpington access to incredible opportunities and skills that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly, fun environment. They offer a range of activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating to rock climbing and camping, plus so much more. At Orpington Sea Cadets young people are able to gain a range of different qualifications gained through life changing experiences.

PTSD999
PTSD999 was founded in 2015 by former Army veteran and police officer Gary Hayes. The organisation is run by a small team of volunteers who provide PTSD awareness presentations across the UK to our emergency services to identify and support those suffering with PTSD. The organisation is aiming to return to provide funded treatment to those that need Trauma focused therapy. They are a non-for-profit social enterprise, awaiting charity status approval.

The MumMum Foundation
The MumMum Foundation is a registered charity founded by a family who have witnessed, first-hand the struggle Cancer creates. The primary objective is to help put smiles on the faces of those who need them most. Whether it be a meal out with loved ones, a trip to the theatre, a day out, a weekend away, some respite or simply someone to talk to; they are there for families every step of the way. They aim to relieve those persons suffering from Cancer, and to support those persons and their families by the provision of financial assistance and support; and to advance the education of the public concerning Cancer.
