Befriending services in Bromley can help residents to connect with their communities and tackle loneliness and social isolation.

Loneliness can affect people of all ages and at any time in life, so for Befriending Week (1 – 7 November 2022) Bromley residents are urged to explore and engage with local services and activities if they, or someone they are concerned about, are experiencing loneliness.

Councillor Mike Botting, Executive Assistant for Adult Care and Health and Loneliness Champion said, “Connection with others and your local community is fundamental in protecting your mental health, and befriending is one way of alleviating experiences of isolation by bringing people together who have similar interests and want to connect. Let Befriending Week inspire you to seek out the support you may need to reconnect; tomorrow could be the first day of a lifelong friendship with someone new!”
