Bromley Council moves finance to the cloud to increase productivity and reliability of its financial monitoring, underlying its commitment to strong financial management.

Bromley Council has today announced it is moving its financial systems to Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), demonstrating its commitment to solid financial management, that underpins the delivery of services.  With Oracle Cloud ERP the council will be able to increase productivity and reliability of its financial monitoring systems.

As the sixth most populous London Borough, Bromley Council provides services to more than 300,000 people. To ensure that financial data continues to be available which directly supports the delivery of services, including frontline services and to the most vulnerable, the council needed to replace its on-premises ERP applications that required regular updates with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system that would also evolve with the organisation. After reviewing a range of solutions on the market, Bromley Council selected Oracle Cloud ERP with Namos Solutions as the implementation partner.

Councillor Graham Arthur, Executive Councillor for Resources, Commissioning and Contract Management said, “Sound financial management remains very much at the heart of Bromley Council, which lays the foundations of the delivery of services we all rely on, including to the most vulnerable.  The ERP system being implemented avoids the need for costly upgrades, that could impact business continuity, with continuous updates now able to take place.  This will enable the council to be even more nimble in the way it manages its finances on behalf of residents.”

Oracle Cloud ERP will help standardise and automate processes and Oracle’s quarterly update cycle will give Bromley Council access to continuous innovation as new features are added every 90 days, with no downtime or business disruption.

“Moving core financial systems to the cloud will enable Bromley Council to automate key workflows, improve the speed and accuracy of insights and create on - going efficiencies,” said Guy Armstrong, Senior Vice President of Applications, UK and Ireland at Oracle “With Oracle Cloud ERP, public sector customers can make smarter resource decisions to drive better outcomes for constituents.”

The project will be implemented by Namos Solutions, who will lead the migration to Oracle Cloud ERP. Alongside this, Namos will support Bromley Council in maximising the benefits of its move to the cloud.

Chris Mason, CEO at Namos said, “We’re thrilled to be announcing our new partnership with Bromley Council and to be introducing them to new and better ways of working with Oracle Cloud ERP. By combining Oracle’s market leading cloud solutions with our public sector expertise, we can ensure a faster deployment and a stronger return on investment for Bromley Council.”
