Booking a ceremony
Please do not contact us until you have received your home office invitation letter.
Once you have completed your request the citizenship officer will then be in contact with you within 15 working days to offer you the next available date and time.
The form will ask you;
- Would you like a group or individual ceremony? There is no charge for a group ceremony, but there is a charge for an individual ceremony.
- Would you like to swear the Oath or declare the Affirmation of allegiance? Details of each are given in your Home Office invitation. Please read this information carefully and decide which you would prefer to do before booking a ceremony.
Request a citizenship ceremony
You are allowed to bring one guest with you. Unfortunately no children are allowed.
If you are opting for a private ceremony you can view a welcome message from the Mayor of the London Borough of Bromley.
Where will the ceremony take place?
Group ceremonies take place in the Function Room in the Old Palace at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH. Please arrive at the appropriate time and follow the signs to the Old Palace. Do not come to the Register Office.
Individual ceremonies: these will be held in the Bluebell Room at the Bromley Civic Centre. You can bring up to two guests.
Attending a ceremony
This is the final step on the journey to becoming a British Citizen. You must attend a citizenship ceremony if you are over 18 years of age and living in the UK.

Children under the age of 18 do not need to attend a ceremony – their certificates will be given to the parent on their behalf.
