Nationally recognised Armed Forces commitment

As part of our armed forces covenant, the Council has now achieved the Bronze Award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, with this accreditation demonstrably showing the Council’s commitment to support the armed forces. See also services for the Armed Forces community for details.

Children’s services recognised as outstanding in Ofsted inspection

An Ofsted inspection of Bromley’s Children Services has concluded that children in the borough receive “exceptionally strong services”, with an outstanding rating in all categories.


‘Outstanding’ Bromley Youth Justice

Bromley Youth Justice has received the highest category overall rating following an inspection by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation. The outstanding rating was awarded in January 2025.


Plain English Campaign

Our website www.bromley.gov.uk has been written with a focus on plain English. It meets the Internet Crystal Mark - Plain English Campaign standards.   

As part of the review, the site was examined and rated on the language, accessibility, design and layout. We performed exceptionally well in the plain English readability test and in the mobile-friendly test.

We also scored highly in the website design and layout, the accessibility checker and the contrast checker which is important for users that need assisted technology to browse the site.
