Greener Bromley Scheme
We are pleased to announce that, after the successful pilot scheme last year, Bromley businesses have the chance to apply for the next round of the Greener Bromley Scheme.
Apply today for a free, internationally recognised, Environmental Accreditation (certified by Green Mark) by joining the Greener Bromley Scheme.
The London Borough of Bromley has created this exciting scheme to encourage businesses to understand their environmental impacts and take measurable steps to reduce them! This joint initiative with Green Mark aims to help businesses thrive in a changing landscape while also helping them take advantage of the benefits of sustainability, such as reduced energy bills and increased engagement.
It allows businesses to understand and improve their environmental impact, and develop a structured framework for fostering sustainable business growth.
Businesses can fully control their environmental impact by utilising the Green Mark sustainability professionals, pledging to improve their sustainability and carbon through the Green Mark Accreditation framework. As part of its initiatives, the council aims to provide support & establish a network of businesses working together to make the borough greener.
What’s the process?
Step 1 - Sign up for this scheme below
Step 2 - Once the scheme is closed and you are selected, you then attend a Kick off session and gain access to the online portal, where you can explore and complete user-friendly questionnaires
Step 3 - You can also download the template documents, help files and guidance notes
Step 4 - Our sustainability team will be available to support you every step of the way and help you to identify areas for improvement/savings to achieve accreditation.
How to qualify
To qualify for the Greener Bromley scheme, your business must be an SME based in the London Borough of Bromley with 2 to 50 employees and operate from a dedicated business premises. To apply, you must be the owner or suitable representative of the business and confirm that your business is responsible for paying their own utility bills i.e. they are not wrapped in service charge provision.
You must also be willing to commit to 8 to 12 hours over a period of 6 weeks.
At the end of the support this accreditation will help your business to;
- Understand the environmental impacts and take easy steps to reduce them
- Communicate their sustainability efforts to their customers and other key stakeholders
- Optimise efficiency & reduce costs
The application window closes on 30 November 2025 and places are strictly limited. The application window will close early if the Council deems that enough applications have been received.
