Cycling on roads
Cycle lanes encourage more people to cycle and provide a safer environment for cyclists. At traffic lights we often provide 'advanced stop lines' to help cyclists move off safely from traffic, and almost all bus lanes in the borough are available for use by cyclists.
Cycling on pavements and in parks
A number of footways in the borough have been converted to shared use for pedestrians and cyclists, and these paths are signed. Cycling is permitted in some of the borough parks, such as Jubilee Park, Norman Park and Crystal Palace Park.
A recent addition to the borough has been Bromley Pump Track which is located at Hoblingwell Wood Recreation Ground in Orpington (Leesons Hill, Orpington, BR5 2QB). This is suitable for all levels of ability and all ages, and has been designed for 'all wheels' such as mountain bikes, scooters, BMX bikes and skateboards.
