- The group began its activities in July 2020 when there was a focus on our local area following the lockdown in the Spring of that year . There was a belief amongst local residents that our urban area lacked the care and attention it merited and that our public spaces should be improved for the benefit and enjoyment of our whole community. The group has undertaken a number of environment-focused projects since inception including community rubbish clear ups and wildflower plantings. We also recently liaised with Network Rail on a project to have one of Lionel Stanhope's iconic murals painted at Birkbeck Bridge and this was completed in March 2022. The group mainly communicates via its Facebook page
