- Be prepared for starting school
Childcare settings will have to demonstrate to Ofsted how funds have been used to improve your child's education. If you are still eligible, the funding can also be transferred if your child moves to another childcare provider.
Do I qualify?
Children are eligible for EYPP if they receive at least one hour of free early years entitlements provision and their parent or carer receives one or more of the following benefits:
- Income support
- income-based jobseeker’s allowance
- income-related employment and support allowance
- support under part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of state pension credit
- Child tax credit (provided you are not also entitled to working tax credit) and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
- Working tax credit run-on, which is paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for working tax credit
- Universal credit - your household income must be less than £7,400 a year after tax not including any benefits you get
Children qualify in their own right if:
- they are looked after by a local council for at least one day
- they have been adopted from care
- they have left care through special guardianship
- they are subject to a child arrangement order
How do I apply?
You do not need to apply for EYPP. If you are eligible, our system will pick this up and automatically apply it to your child's funding. Your provider will be able to confirm your eligibility when they have added your child to our funding system.
