The council is pleased to offer a community celebration fund of £9,000 to help the local community celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Following many welcome submissions, applications to this community support fund have now closed. Those who have already applied will be contacted about their application in due course.

Grants of up to £500 are being delivered to community groups in the London Borough of Bromley to support their local celebrations.  Applications were open to residents’ associations or residents’ groups holding street parties or events in Bromley greenspaces (parks), and from charities, business groups or civic societies holding community events.

About the application process

Applications will be assessed and prioritised based on the following criteria:

  • How many Bromley residents will benefit from the event
  • Inclusion of match funding of the event – details should be included in with your application
  • Whether all documentation requested within the application was provided
  • To ensure funding is distributed fairly across the borough

The event must be held in the London Borough of Bromley and be for Bromley residents, taking place between 6 May and 8 May 2023.

Payments must be made to a british bank account in the applicant groups’ name and cannot be made to individual bank accounts.

To receive funding for a street party or park event, you must receive permission, as required, to hold this event and for any associated road closures. Find out more information about road closures and park closures for street parties or events over the coronation bank holiday weekend. Find out more about permissions for events in Bromley parks. At least two months’ notice should be given for park events of under 500 people.

You will have received an acknowledgement email once we received your application. The council’s decision is final and there will be no right of appeal. While this funding is a grant and not a loan, the council reserves the right to request the funds be returned if the event you planned does not proceed for any reason.
