Product identification
Labelling specifies 'Popmart' (one word) and 'The Monsters' collection, which has been deemed to be counterfeit. There was no QR code on the product and no importer name and address.

Hazard
The product presents a serious chemical risk as the plastic material from the hands and feet contains 0.011 ± 0.004% DEHP (bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate) and 1.3 ± 0.34% DBP (dibutyl phthalate). Phthalates may harm the health of children, possibly causing damage to the reproductive system.
Additionally, the product also presents a risk of choking as both the left foot and right hand detached at a force less than the specified minimum. The detached components create small parts capable of fitting inside a small parts cylinder. If a young child were to mouth or swallow the small parts, they may choke.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
Corrective action
The goods have been seized from a local retailer and will be destroyed.
