Toy cash register with plastic fruits and vegetables
Hazard
The product presents a risk of choking as it includes a plastic strawberry which fits entirely within a small parts cylinder and could be mistaken for a real foodstuff by a young child. Small parts pose a choking risk to young children, particularly those under 36 months of age who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths.
The product is also supplied in a plastic bag which does not meet minimum thickness requirements. If a young child is left unattended with the packaging, they may place it over their head and mouth, leading to asphyxiation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 or the Food Imitations (Safety) Regulations 1989.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
