Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire because it is supplied with a non-compliant Euro-style plug that does not incorporate a fuse and therefore cannot meet the requirements of BS 1363. In the event of a fault or overcurrent, there is no adequate protection, which may lead to overheating and a risk of fire. The product is also supplied with a non-compliant conversion adaptor. The adaptor has a non-solid earth pin, which may result in an unreliable electrical connection. Additionally, improvements are required to the documentation, markings, instruction manual, and declaration of conformity.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
