Hazard
The adapter presents a risk of fire because the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and has with excessive live and neutral pin sleeve dimensions and an undersized insulated shutter-opening device (ISOD) pin. This means the plug cannot make a secure connection to the socket, which may lead to it overheating and igniting, causing a fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon). Owners are advised to stop using the product and contact the distributor they purchased from for redress.
