Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock because the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. The distance between the outer edge of the plug and the live pin is insufficient, and the earth and live pins are too short. As a result, the plug may not connect securely to a socket, potentially exposing live parts to the user. The plug also does not have the facilities for a fuse, which is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions. Improvements are also required to the product packaging and accompanying documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
