A black treadmill with handles, display screen and adjustable incline levels
Hazard
The product presents a risk of fire as it has been identified that certain batches may have a defect that can cause the treadmill to overheat. If the product were to overheat, it could ignite and cause a fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Corrective action
The product has been recalled from end users.
Affected consumers have been contacted directly by Fitness Superstore. Owners are advised to switch off their treadmill immediately and unplug it from the mains electricity supply.
Consumers should then check the serial number located on the underside of the treadmill's main frame to determine whether it contains 50133099.
If the product is affected, Fitness Superstore will arrange a free collection of the treadmill and provide a full refund.
Alternatively, where collection cannot reasonably be arranged, Fitness Superstore may authorise the customer to dispose of the treadmill. In such cases, a full refund will be issued upon receipt of evidence of disposal and a signed declaration.
