Bromley’s business community will showcase their trade in a special Christmas market to give shoppers the chance to pick up a host of products at the start of the festive season.

The market organised by Start Up Bromley will be held in the restaurant terrace of the Glades near the Queens Gardens entrance from Monday 28 November to Saturday 3 December 2022 from 10am to 5pm. Products on sale will include sweet treats, beauty products, homeware, artwork, books and much more.

Businesses taking part in the market are members of Start Up Bromley, an innovative scheme that offers business support for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs through Bromley’s libraries. Markets have been arranged in collaboration with the Glades to display the services and product available from 18 local businesses in a festive celebration with cheerful music and colourful decorations. There will also be opportunity to find out more about the businesses taking part and their experiences of Start Up Bromley.

Start Up Bromley Business Support Officer Imogen Loucas, who manages the day-to-day operations, said: “I hope the Christmas Marketplace will contribute to the spirit of buying local this Christmas, and provide the opportunity to meet and support talented Bromley businesses within such an entrepreneurial borough.”

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Bromley’s Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing said: “This is a great opportunity to support local businesses by picking up some special gifts for loved ones ahead of the Christmas rush. Start Up Bromley has been a fantastic asset for our thriving business community and I am pleased to see local businesses continue to benefit from its support.”

Start Up Bromley launched in May 2021 in an initial £120,000 initiative to provide support to local businesses through Bromley libraries. This involved providing business lounges and workshops to benefit new entrepreneurs, as well as offering business advice. Find out more about Start Up Bromley and how to get involved.
