Bromley Council is preparing for some initial propping work to be undertaken at West Wickham Leisure Centre to help maintain the structural integrity of the building.

The propping work will involve installing structural supports to the building, which will remain closed during this period. A further update is expected in the coming weeks.

The council is continuing to look into the potential to bring forward the multimillion-pound improvement works at the centre, planned to go ahead later this year subject to further approval.

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing said: “Whilst it is unfortunate that West Wickham Leisure Centre remains closed, progress is being made to secure the structure of the building and we hope to have a firmer update in the coming weeks. We are continuing to assess the potential to bring forward the redevelopment of the centre, and remain committed to investing in the long-term future of these leisure facilities.”

Mytime Active continue to support their West Wickham members both with their membership and staying active. West Wickham members can use any of Mytime Active’s other leisure centres and swimming pools in Bromley - Biggin Hill Pool, Darrick Wood Pool, The Pavilion Leisure Centre, The Spa at Beckenham and Walnuts Leisure Centre, as well as other community locations.

Updates will be provided as soon as further information is available. Please visit the Mytime Active website.
