A settlement has been reached between Bromley Council and Biggin Hill Airport Limited (BHAL) in relation to the “dispersal hut” that was situated at London Biggin Hill Airport.
The agreement means that the two parties will not proceed to trial over the landlord and tenant dispute, avoiding the additional costs and uncertainties this would involve. Remaining parts of the dispersal hut will now be preserved by BHAL until they are ready for public display at RAF Biggin Hill Museum and Chapel.
The settlement agreement includes £300,000 from Biggin Hill Airport Ltd to be paid to Bromley Council for heritage purposes, of which £200,000 is reserved for the RAF Biggin Hill Museum and Chapel.
Biggin Hill Airport Ltd and Bromley Council confirmed: “Following mediation regarding the dispersal hut, Biggin Hill Airport Limited and the London Borough of Bromley have come to a resolution, with the airport agreeing to give £300,000 to the London Borough of Bromley to support the Borough’s rich heritage. Plans will now progress for sections of the hut to be made accessible to the public at RAF Biggin Hill Museum and Chapel.”
