A special reception to show appreciation to resident volunteers from across the borough saw the Mayor thank attendees for their contributions to local neighbourhoods, charities, and community groups.
Friends of local parks, Girlguiding leaders, volunteers for local charities, and residents’ association representatives were amongst those being recognised this year at the Civic Reception for Voluntary Workers. This important occasion takes place each year to recognise the contributions of volunteers across Bromley, with this year being the first reception held at Bromley’s new Civic Centre at Churchill Court.
Councillor Jonathan Andrews, the Mayor of Bromley, said: “Volunteering is at the heart of our borough, and I am so pleased to have this opportunity to thank some of the fantastic volunteers who I know work so hard to support their fellow residents and bring so much to the social fabric of our brilliant borough, helping make Bromley a fantastic place to live, work and volunteer. Volunteering is great to get involved in, and with so many volunteering opportunities to take part in across Bromley, I would strongly encourage those interested to find out more and to get involved.”
A variety of volunteering opportunities are available across the borough. Find out more at www.bromley.gov.uk/volunteering.
