Winter Service Policy - Weather information
An efficient and effective winter service is only possible with information about conditions that is reliable, accurate and provided in a timely manner. The council will continue to use cost effective technology to ensure that decisions can be made with the advantage of having the best weather information available Bromley Council has subscribed to the DTN winter service roads forecasting service ‘Roadmaster’, this arrangement is now contracted for a further 5 years.
The DTN weather forecasts will be fine-tuned by the use of local condition monitoring equipment provided by specialist meteorological service provider Vaisala.
