Warm Homes: Local Grant
The Warm Homes: Local Grant is a program designed to boost energy efficiency and help reduce fuel poverty among low-income households (as defined by the scheme) in England.
This grant is part of the larger Greater London Warm Homes Plan, which aims to upgrade 5 million homes over the next five years and help more people reduce energy costs, improve energy efficiency and cut carbon emissions.

Eligibility:
- Open to low-income households (as defined by the scheme): gross household income of £36,000 per year or less OR are in receipt of any financial aid
- Owner occupier/private rented home
- Homes must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D or lower.
Works being funded:
- Wall, loft and underfloor insulation
- Air source heat pumps
- Smart controls
- Solar panels

Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides up to £7500 towards the cost of replacing fossil fuel heating systems with heat pump. Approved installers will apply for the scheme on your behalf.

Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO)
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is government scheme requiring some energy suppliers to help with the cost of improving home's energy efficiency. Suppliers are required to provide grants to pay the whole cost or some of the cost of improvements including insulation.
The scheme requires households to be low income and experiencing some kind of vulnerability or fuel poverty.

Great British Insulation Scheme
The Great British Insulation scheme is government-backed insulation scheme led by Ofgem. The least energy efficient homes in the UK have energy efficiency improvements to tackle energy use and fuel poverty.
Single insulation measures are implemented to offer quick energy efficiency relief. Those living in homes with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of - as well as low-income vulnerable households will be eligible.

VAT exemption
Between April 2022 and April 2027, the cost of purchasing and installing some home energy-efficiency improvements will be VAT exempt. This will lower the cost of certain measures by up to 20 per cent.
The exemption is applied for by the contractors who supply and install energy efficiency and heating equipment. Ask suppliers to confirm whether VAT exemption applies to any works you are asking them to quote for.

Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Fund 4 (LAD4)
This scheme aimed to raise the energy efficiency of low EPC rated homes (The scheme gave homeowners £10,000 grant and landlords £5000 to pay for energy efficiency improvements. This scheme is now closed.
