Volunteers play an essential role in supporting the work of the YOS with children in the justice system. They provide a link to the community and can be positive role models for children and young people. 

To become a volunteer, applicants must:

  • Be over the age of 18
  • Complete a full DBS clearance
  • Have satisfactory references
  • Have common sense and a commitment to help others
  • Be able to commit to two to three hours per fortnight
  • Complete a training programme and attend monthly support group sessions or additional training as required.
