You’re not alone - Help is always here.
Social services want you to know that you’re never alone. There are people who care about you and want to help. Their job is to make life easier for young carers by:
- Listening to you
- Giving advice
- Finding the right support - like someone to talk to, a break from caring, or help at school
They also work with your family so caring doesn’t stop you from being a child and having fun. If things ever feel too hard, they will step in and help find answers together.
Most of all, they want you to feel special, understood, and supported every step of the way.
What help can you get?
You and your parent/carer can ask for something called a Young Carer’s Assessment. This is just a way to see what help you need. It might include:
- Help with money
- Time to relax or take a break
- Someone to talk to about your feelings
- Help with jobs you do at home

National support
There are also some big organisations across the UK that are here to help young carers. They offer support, advice, and fun things to get involved in no matter where you live.
