Residents and fans are invited to join for an open top bus parade in Bromley Town Centre on Monday 4 May, in celebration of Bromley FC’s historic achievement in being promoted to League One.
The parade will take place on Bromley High Street at 12:45pm on Monday 4 May, allowing the borough to come together and show appreciation for the club. In a change from previous parades, the bus parade will travel down the non-pedestrianised area of the High Street:
- starting where the top of Elmfield Road meets the High Street,
- heading down the High Street,
- ending where the bottom of Elmfield Road meets the High Street before Bromley South Train Station.
Bromley FC’s successful season means they will enter League One for the first time in their history next season, which follows their promotion to the England Football League in 2024.
A spokesperson at Bromley FC said: "We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating another historic season in the centre of Bromley. A huge thank you to Bromley Council for making this a possibility again! It's another season to be proud of and we'd like to thank everyone who has been part of the journey."
A Bromley Council spokesperson said: “We are delighted to be able to bring fans and residents together in the heart of our town centre to celebrate all that the club have achieved after a historic season. We know there is immense pride across the borough for Bromley FC, who continue to also do fine work in supporting the local community. So please do come and show your support on Monday and wish the club luck for the seasons ahead.”
The High Street will be closed as needed between 11:30am and 2pm on Monday 4 May to allow for the parade, with access to residential roads between Ethelbert Road, Ringer’s Road and Ravensbourne Road being facilitated via Elmfield Road and Kentish Way during the necessary closure. Parking will be suspended on the High Street between 8am and 2pm on Monday 4 May, with non-residential parking bays also suspended on Ethelbert Road. Various town centre car parks remain available, with further information on the council’s website.
This year, Bromley FC supported a matchday campaign to encourage supporters aged 40 to 74 to take up NHS Health Checks.
