St Paul's Cray Library relaunch invites you to join the amalgamation and reopening of two much-loved community services, rebranded as the new St Paul’s Cray Library and Community Support Centre.

St Paul’s Cray library will soon reopen after an extensive refurbishment.

This re-launch brings together two much-loved community services, the Cotmandene Community Resource Centre and St Paul’s Cray library which were previously in separate buildings.

The new service has been re-branded as St Paul’s Cray Library and Community Support Centre. Both services benefit from a modern, reimagined space with new windows, lighting, heating, accessible toilets for customers, and modern staff facilities including a new kitchen.

The library building has been designed to offer designated areas for support centre and library customers plus shared facilities such as PCs, study, and community space. Previously both buildings had closed days but coming together the centre will offer increased opening hours. The library has a teen section and a new children’s area which features a boat for younger children to sit in whilst they read or have adventures.

The community support centre continues to offer its blend of outreach and discrete support. There is a consultation room for one-to-one meetings with staff or visiting organisations such Citizens Advice. Customers can also make calls from a sound-proof booth to discuss personal issues such as housing.

The refurbished St Paul’s Cray library and Community Support Centre will be re-opened by the Deputy Mayor Cllr Keith Onslow accompanied by a string quartet, refreshments, and children’s activities.

We hope to see many people from the local community there to enjoy this modern community space and see it in operation.
