Join the reopening festivities at the transformed Walnuts Leisure Centre in celebration of its return to Orpington town centre this Thursday, 2 July.
Special entertainment and activities are being hosted at the leisure centre and surrounding town centre, with the Mayor of Bromley set to officially reopen the centre at 12pm.
Find acrobat performers and a New Orleans brass band travelling around the town centre as part of the entertainment from Orpington 1st BID. Sports activities, smoothie bikes and stalls from various partners and leisure clubs will fill the marketspace area in front of the leisure centre off Lych Gate Road for residents to enjoy.
Following the ribbon cutting, residents will be able to explore the leisure centre until 2pm, with demonstrations available throughout to give a taste of what the transformed new centre has to offer.
Refreshments, including an ice cream van will be on offer, while Bromley FC will visit for the occasion with their League Two Trophy. Football choreographer Mike Delaney will also be teaching residents some of the skills from his work with the likes of Messi and Kane.
The £17m leisure centre transformation has been delivered by Bromley Council and the centre is now being run again by the borough’s longstanding leisure provider, Mytime Active. Usual use of the centre will commence from 2pm on Thursday and continue long into the future.
