Simon is hosting an extraordinary evening of entertainment at the West Beck Club that blends astonishing mind-reading, world-class close-up magic, and laugh-out-loud comedy. Entitled the hypnosis and magic night, this special event is designed to deliver non-stop astonishment while raising crucial funds for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in the Kumamoto region of Japan.
As a member of The Magic Circle, Simon wanted to transform a night of live entertainment into a powerful vehicle for community support. Every single penny raised from ticket sales and donations will be sent directly to the local community in Kumamoto, ensuring that funds are deployed where they are needed most during their long road to recovery.
A cause close to Simon's heart
This cause is profoundly personal to Simon. When the major earthquake struck Kumamoto, his 90-year-old mother-in-law miraculously escaped total disaster because she happened to be in the kitchen when her home was flattened. Had the tremor occurred during the night, the outcome would have been tragic.
Today, she resides in a community centre alongside roughly 200 others, sleeping on a communal floor after losing everything. Similarly, his sister-in-law survived with severe structural damage to her home, forcing her and hundreds of neighbours to sleep in cars parked in open fields out of fear of aftershocks. Months after the initial disaster, many families continue to live without reliable electricity or running water. By joining us for this show, you are directly contributing to the rebuilding of these shattered lives.

The success of this evening is made possible by the extraordinary generosity of fellow performers, all of whom are giving their time entirely free of charge. Your ticket price does not go towards performer fees; 100 per cent of proceeds support the relief effort.
- Close-up Magic in the Bar (8:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continuing until 10:30 PM): Before and after the main stage show, expert magicians from The Magic Circle and the South London Magic Society will circulate through the bar area, performing jaw-dropping illusions inches from your eyes.
- The comedy hypnosis show (9:00 PM to 10:00 PM): Headlined by Jason Simmons - a full-time comedy hypnotist, mentalist, and stand-up comedian with extensive UK and international experience - the main show turns willing audience members into the ultimate stars of the evening. Whether you find yourself riding in the Grand National or conducting a phantom orchestra, Jason’s razor-sharp wit and dynamic stage presence guarantee an unforgettable spectacle.
