Families are being reminded of the wide range of activities on offer across the borough during the half-term break, from sports camps to library events to days out in the borough's parks.
The Mayor of Bromley shares some the highlight from this offering, including those featuring in her mayoral year so far, with Mick Livesey from Bromley FC also on hand to share about the half term holiday camps they run through their Community Trust.
The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Christine Harris, says: "As a parent myself, I know that half term can be a busy time for families looking for ways to keep children entertained. Fortunately, Bromley has an incredible range of activities available right on our doorstep. I encourage families to make the most of the fantastic facilities we have across the borough, with thanks to our partners for all they offer for families during the holidays."
The transformed Walnuts Leisure Centre was reopened this summer by the Mayor of Bromley. The borough’s longstanding leisure partner Mytime Active is now running a range of activities from here and across the borough for residents during half term. Find out more on the Mytime Active website.
Additionally, the borough’s libraries, many of which have also been refurbished in recent years, hold a range of activities over half term from painting classes, to book readings, to Lego sessions. Check online through GLL, who operate Bromley’s libraries, to see what your local library has to offer.
The major regeneration works in Crystal Palace Park that the council delivered with Crystal Palace Park Trust has meant a host of new attractions. This includes the restored dinosaurs, a dinosaur-themed playground and the new visitor centre, which the Mayor opened over the summer. Find out more about Crystal Palace Park.
The Bromley FC holiday camp gives opportunity for boys or girls to develop their football skills with us, while also enjoying a host of fun games throughout camp. If of interest, have a look for available spaces on their website.
Bromley has over 160 parks and open green spaces across the borough, so why not pick one to explore for an enjoyable day out with the family.
