Essential maintenance at the Waldo Road reuse and recycling centre means that the facility will continue to be closed and is now anticipated to be closed until Wednesday 6 March.

Residents are being asked to postpone their trips to Waldo Road until the centre re-opens and thanked for their understanding. The slightly extended closure follows the need for additional work which was identified when excavating, with the rain also delaying progress. The reuse and recycling centre will remain closed over the weekend period and is anticipated to be closed until at least Wednesday 6 March, with updates to follow.

Councillor Will Rowlands, Executive Councillor for Environment said, “Whilst the rains have hampered progress, disappointingly, our excavation work to repair the collapsed drain has shown that further work is needed. We are continuing to prioritise recycling and waste collections across the borough which have continued as normal and I thank residents for their understanding.”

The reuse and recycling centre in Churchfields Road in Beckenham remains open as normal. Visitors are advised to plan their journey, using the webcams to gauge how busy the site is, especially given it is expected the site will be busier than usual.
