Bridge replacement plans
Kelsey Park is one of the borough’s most prestigious and loved parks, which we recognise serves as both an important wildlife habitat and community hub.
The two pedestrian timber glulam bridges located in the park have been closed for some time following health and safety concerns and a subsequent structural report which declared the bridges unsafe, having come to the end of their life.
We recognise that there is some significant local public interest in the future of these bridges, with many residents and park users requesting information about the plans for the structures going forward.
This page outlines plans to replace the larger of the two bridges (bridge B) and will be updated to communicate progress at key milestones.
Bridges location map
Footbridge A: is located at the north end of the park, adjacent to the information centre.
Footbridge B is located at the southern end to the park near to the Stone Avenue entrance.
