If you wish to build, extend or demolish a property or develop or change the use of a building or piece of land you may need to apply for planning permission.
Do you need permission?
Detailed general guidance about the kinds of work for which you need to apply for planning permission and those for which you do not is available from the Planning Portal website.
We have published validation guidance and local information requirements for planning applications which we advise all applicants to view in order to help you submit a valid application.
The easiest way to apply for planning permission is to submit an application via the Planning Portal.
Registration is easy and you can complete your application form, upload supporting documents and calculate fees online.
We are strongly encouraging all application submissions to be made electronically wherever possible via the Planning Portal or by e-mail to email@example.com (there is an 8MB limit on attachments)
Contacting us about your application
If you have not received an acknowledgement letter or an invalid letter within two weeks of submitting your application, please contact our planning support team.
Once your application is valid and registered it is not possible to keep applicants informed of the progress with an application and we are unable to negotiate or meet to discuss the application generally. We will contact you if we require anything specific to enable determination of the application and you are able to track progress of an application.
Planning applications are decided in accordance with the development plan, unless there is a very good reason not to do so. The current local development plan is the Bromley Local Plan 2019
