Churchfields Road Reuse and Recycling Centre repairs to commence – update 2 December 2022
Construction work to reconstruct the bay walls, including with metal work for strength, is continuing, with the site due to reopen before Christmas. Welding work is required to ensure the metal work protecting the newly constructed walls, with this work set to start. The concrete floor within the bays is also being renewed where needed, with preparation work being completed.
The Churchfields Road Reuse and Recycling centre continues to be open to traders who use a different area of the site and closed to residents, with a range of alternative options available. The announcement of work starting ‘on site’ can be viewed in the film.
You may want to consider donating unwanted items to charity or use one of the many community apps to give them to someone else. If you have large items to dispose of in the interim, you can use the council’s bulky item collection service where we will come direct to you, with charges varying according to what is picked up. You can also use the Waldo Road site.
Waldo Road Reuse and Recycling Centre
The Waldo Road reuse and recycling centre is open as usual and can also be used as an alternative. As the centre can be extremely busy at weekends and before bank holidays, try to plan your journey to the centre to avoid these times. Please plan your journey before travelling to Waldo Road and view the webcam to check for congestion before setting off.
Any household or garden waste can be taken to the reuse and recycling centre during the opening times. You can also dispose of garden waste by subscribing to the council’s green garden waste collection service at https://recyclingservices.bromley.gov.uk/waste.
Soil, brick, DIY, rubble and construction waste may be disposed of for a fee according to weight.
