Polling stations

At the beginning of 2025, the council undertook a compulsory review of the polling district and polling places in the borough.

As a result of the review, there have been changes to some of the polling districts and polling stations in the borough.

Subsequently, there are three polling stations that are unavailable for these elections, so changes have been made to the following:

If electors do not have any of the accepted forms of ID they can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC)

Postal and proxy votes

Postal vote packs cannot be printed until nominations close, which means that these may not be dispatched until 7 to 10 days before the day of poll. Please see the key dates table for details.

If this is not suitable, for example, because you are going on holiday before this time you may wish to apply for a proxy vote instead.

Update on postal vote reapplication process

If you applied for a postal vote before 30 January 2024, by law you were required to reapply by 31 January 2026. If you did not reapply, you can still vote by:

  • Voting in person at your polling station on 7 May 2026 or
  • Applying for a postal vote by 17:00 on Tuesday 21 April 2026
