Every day we all use roads and pavements whether as a driver, passenger, pedestrian or cyclist. Our aim is to keep all road users safe and reduce the number of road accidents that happen every day in the borough.
To do this we use accident statistics to target specific locations to manage traffic movements and to reduce the number of accidents through a range of engineering measures and transport projects on the roads across the borough.
We offer training and advice to all drivers, motorcyclists and moped riders, cyclists and pedestrians of all ages. We also have a child car seat fitting centre and we run a retailer accreditation scheme for child car seats.
We also work closely with schools offering a varied road safety educational program as well as offering a number school travel plan initiatives.
