Buddleia (Butterfly bush)

Buddleia, commonly known as Butterfly bush, is a shrub native to China. It is a non-native species, that outcompetes native species and can cause damage to properties. However, it is known for its fragrant flowers and attracting insects such as butterflies and bees.

As Buddleia is beneficial to pollinators and easy to manage, it is our policy to control rather than eradicate it on our land. Key identifying features include small densely clustered lilac flowers.
